Wow! what a list, so many denominations involved in the N.I.V. What a mess!

-Conservative Baptist
-Evangelical Free
-Southern Baptist (I mean freemason)
-United Methodist
-Grace Brethren
-Orthodox Presbyterian
-Church of England
-Baptist (certainly not one who believes in the KJV)
-Open Brethren
-Reformed Presbyterian
-United Presbyterian
-Plymouth Brethren
-Mennonite Brethren
-Christian and Missionary Alliance
-Reformed Episcopal
And the list goes on and on and many brothers working together...should I say ECUMENICAL! I'm surprised the pope or even a muslim isn't on this list.

Edwin H. Palmer (Executive Secretary, NIV Committee on Bible Translation. Christian Reformed.)

Edwin H. palmer was a CALVINIST!!! He even wrote a book defending T.U.L.I.P.!!!

Other Calvinists:
-R.C. Sproul (says God chooses some for salvation, some for hell, some he hates, some he loves)
-J.I. Packer
-Ralph Woodrow (doesn't believe in the rapture, actually makes fun of it)
-John Calvin (of course him, he started this whole tulip thing, oh what a catholic he was. Did I say catholic?)
-John MacArthur (Americas favourite teacher, I bet this one came as a surprise)

Virginia Mollenkott (William Paterson College. No church affiliation given.)

Virginia Mollenkott "served as stylistic consultant for the New International Version of the Bible" but guess what? she is a LESBIAN! You heard me right, a lesbian worked on the NIV! That is why the NIV is "gay friendly", it removes the word "sodomite"! "Was a member of the translation committee for the New International Version of the Bible (1970 - 1978); and of An Inclusive Language Lectionary (National Council of Churches). In 1978, she co-authored Is The Homosexual My Neighbor? A Positive Christian View, which was expanded and updated in 1994. She has lectured widely on lesbian, gay, and bisexual rights and has also been active in the transgender cause, serving as co-author of Transgender Journeys (2003). Mollenkott, who has one son and three granddaughters, earned her B.A. from Bob Jones University, her M.A. from Temple University, and her Ph.D. from New York University. Her partner is Judith Suzannah Tilton."

Want even more proof? here:

Don't trust the N.I.V. Calvinism is of the devil. Ecumenism is of the devil. Read the KJV, trust the KJV, ask God to show you the truth about wolves in the church and corrupt bibles. Lesbians working on a bible translation! What herery that is! OPEN YOUR EYES!!

Gail Riplinger books, videos & audio's contains multiple errors, lies, the majority of which are the gross misquoting of other people. In particular, a large portion of the misquoting is of the Bible, B.F. Wescott and F.J.A. Hort.

The New Bible Translations are more correct than the old ones and just about everything Gail Riplinger says in her books, videos and audio's is a Lie. Please Don't be deceived by Gail Riplinger. Gail is slamming God's Holy Word in the new translations. For further info on Gail Riplinger please see:

Yes you are right Gail Riplinger has a few mistakes in her book, she has admitted this, after all she is only human, I repeat she is only HUMAN and humans make mistakes. Her books are not inspired, only one book is. Only one book is perfect just like God is perfect and that is his word, the KJV. It is funny, my article isn't even about Gail, yet you critesize her and fail to mention anything about what I actually wrote about. It's about the N.I.V., its ecumenical connection, about Palmer and Mollenkott. Do you believe we should be ecumenical? Do you believe we should side with Rome? Do you condone the sin of sodomy/homosexuality? Do you know what calvanism is? what they teach? My bible says "God was manifest in the flesh" the N.I.V. says "he appeared in a body", who is he? it could be anybody. How is this more correct? I don't "follow" Gail Riplinger, I follow my God and my Saviour Jesus Christ. Let's take another translation, how about the New World Translation of the Jehovah Witness. It says in john 1:1 that the "word was a god" well my bible says the "word was God". Jesus is the word, so then is Jesus a god? or is he God? You said newer versions are more correct, do you deny that Jesus is God? As much as I like her book, my final authority is the bible. I have an N.I.V., a NKJV and the KJV, and guess what? they don't agree. I have seen the changes in the N.I.V. and the NKJV with my own eyes. You CANNOT deny the changes in the newer versions. Do you believe the teachings of the New Age? Do you think they are harmless? Can you deny that Hort and Wescott were not involded in the occult? How do you supose satan is going to unite the world to worship him? Do you think satan knowing that his time is up, is sitting on a beach somewere sipping on a piƱa colada? Satan has since the beggining attacked the word of God, but I guess according to you he got tired of waiting for the end to come and is on vacation not worried a tiny bit about souls being snatched from the flames of hell, sinners being saved, satanists coming to Jesus. I guess satan is not worried at all. Yeah right!!! The closer we get to the end of the world the more desperate he is gona get, the more damage he is gona try to do to the saints, to the word of God. Satan HATES Christians and will hurt them by any means! "REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL"

The Message bible says in john 3:13 "No one has ever gone up into the presence of God except the One who came down from that Presence, the Son of Man."

My bible says "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven." So how is it more "correct" to take out that the Son of man which is in heaven? He was on earth standing in front of Nicodemus and at the same time he was in heaven, in other words he is omnipresent because Jesus is God.

Message bible says in john 1:14 "The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood."

My bible says "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us". Key word is "dwelt", as in the feast of Tabernacles. But I guess saying that he moved into the neighborhood is more "correct".

How is changing words, key words and meanings more correct?

Hort and Wescott were Anglicans, here is some Anglican beliefs:

1. The Dominical Sacraments—Baptism and Holy Communion—are needed for salvation and life
2. Our Lord is spiritually present in the consecrated elements of bread and wine at the Holy Communion
3. The ancient Creeds of the Church are accurate Scriptural summaries of the Christian Faith
4. We are called not to simply “go through the motions” of a Christian life, but to acquire and experience holy lives changed by the Gospel, the Holy Spirit, and the Sacraments—and to live the abundant life of victory our Lord intended us to have
5. We are catholic (although not part of the Roman Church), meaning “of the universal church,” practicing the ancient form of seven Sacraments, but also protestant, meaning “asserting” the entire truth of God’s Word by simply doing what it says to do

Sacraments needed for salvation? Is that what the bible says? sounds more like Roman doctrine to me. Last time I checked my bible you only needed to repent and believe. God present at "wine and bread" hhhmmm...sounds like catholic mass to me. Oh and they admit they are catholic. Are you catholic? Oh and some personal beliefs of Hort and Wescott:

1. “No one now, I suppose, holds that the first three chapters of Genesis, for example, give a literal history – I could never understand how any one reading them with open eyes could think they did.” Westcott, 1890

2. “(Revelation 1:1) The conception of the book is not that the primary Revealer is Christ, though by the will or permission of God …; but the primary Revealer is God…” Hort

3. “Have you read Darwin? How I should like a talk with you about it! In spite of difficulties, I am inclined to think it unanswerable. In any case it is a treat to read such a book.” Hort to Westcott (in Final Authority)

4.(1 Peter 1:5) “‘salvation of souls’ … In these and similar phrases we must be aware of importing into “soteria” the modern associations connected with the religious use of the word ‘soul.’ The ‘soul’ in the bible is simply the life and ‘to save a soul’ is the opposite of ‘to kill’ …” Hort

5. (John 1:18) “The bosom of the Father (like heaven) is a state and not a place” Westcott

6. (Revelation 2:11) “(the second death) Then as to the order of promises, the second death stands between the Garden of Eden and the Manna. It might thus be either the deluge, as Bishop Temple implies, well called the second death in contrast to the expulsion from the Garden. It probably is a combination of the deluge and Sodom, the Waterflood and the Fire- Flood.” Hort

7. “I am very far from pretending to understand completely the ever reviewed vitality of Mariolatry … I have been persuaded for many years that Mary-worship and ‘Jesus’-worship have very much in common in their causes and results” Hort

8. “We maintain ‘Baptismal Regeneration’ as the most important of doctrines … almost all Anglican statements are a mixture in various proportions of the true and the Romish view; 2nd, the pure Romish view seems to me nearer, and more likely to lead to, truth than the Evangelical.” Hort

9. “I do thing we have no right to exclaim against the idea of the commencement of a spiritual life, conditionally from Baptism, any more than we have to deny the commencement of a moral life from birth” Westcott

10. “While yet an infant you were claimed for God by being made in Baptist an unconscious member of His Church … you have as your birthright a share in the kingdom of heaven …” Hort writing to his eldest son on his confirmation.

So these two men were great men of God, worthy to immitate, worthy to follow as an example, so in that note I will be back, I am going to go write a "new" translation. Im gona call it the "jonathan" bible, I will add some words here and I will delete some here, and change a bit here and a bit there, because no matter what I do to it, how much I change it, it will be even more "correct" that the newest of the new versions out there. It will still be the word of God, just according to jonathan.
How about I add some nice new words to it, like "yo" whats up" "homey" "gangsta" "worrrd". So it will sound something like this "Yo! whats up man! Hear me out, the word became a homeboy, wearing red (our colour) a few tattoos, and a .45 in his hand. He was cruising along in his lowrider, pumping out some beats, when suddenly he stopped, lowered his hydrolics and said, Yo G! tis gangsta, check out those honeys. I think im gona move to this hood, worrd!". So now im up to date with todays language, maybe this way it will be easier for youth to understand the word of God. No matter how much I change the bible it is still the "word of God" and more "correct". YEAH RIGHT!!

Kudos to your article, Jonathan.I love the KJB. Anybody who wants to grow spiritually should read it. Gail Riplinger has put a lot of work into collating the different versions. The majority text and original Hebrew and Aramaic are the true Word of God. The King James Bible is the best representation of these. Don't settle for less, read the best. It' a battle for your soul. We live by every Word of God.

The King James is an ecumenical bible. It even had the apocrypha in it which King James refused to omit. If you don't want an ecumenical bible you should rather stick with the Geneva.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." (Matthew 24:3-14)
