NIV vs. KJV ROUND #6

(Luke 9:56)
NIV - " and they went to another village"

KJV - "For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village."

(Matthew 18:11)
NIV - (whole verse omitted)

KJV - "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."

(Matthew 9:13)
NIV - "For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

KJV - "For I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

(Joel Osteens church is filled with sinners, but how many of those have repented? He never even mentions "repent" so the NIV fits his doctrines of devils perfectly)

(Acts 8:37)
NIV - (whole verse omitted)

KJV - "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

(one of the most amazing verses in the bible, yet it is MISSING from the NIV, of course there is a footnote were it just says that in some late manuscripts it is found, well then if it was found why not add it then? Is verse 37 part of the bible or it isn't? This is a very important verse concerning salvation, yet the NIV editors diminish its value by putting it into the footnote)

(Acts 9:5,6)
NIV - "...I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, he replied. Now get up and go into the city..."

KJV - " ...I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city..."

(Colossians 1:14)
NIV - "In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

KJV - "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins."

(John 8:35)
NIV - "Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever."

KJV - "And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever."

(Luke 11:2-4)
NIV - "Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation."

KJV - "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil."

If it ain't broken, why fix it? The KJV has been around for 397 years and the NIV has been around for 35 years. The KJV has NO footnotes not even one, nothing, yet the NIV is filled with them. The NIV has at least one footnote per page, they all say the same thing "some later manuscripts, blah, blah", they try to justify the missing or changed verses. The KJV has no missing verses and is 100% complete, yet a bible that came out 362 years later is maybe 50% complete and is missing thousands of words. If it ain't broken, why fix it? I only keep my NIV to be able to see the changes and to be able to show others also, other than that it would be in the garbage bin right now, because that is exactly were it belongs!

Luke 4:16-21 says "And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."

Now imaging the next scenario: Jesus finishes saying "this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears" and someone in the crowd says "hold on just a sec, what version of the scriptures are you using? because my says something different". Then the next guy says "my version which is the latest out in the market says almost the same thing but it is missing a few words from the one Jesus was reading from". The next guy says "Now hold on everybody, my version says that its the gospel to the rich and and that its to heal the brokenwallets, now I don't know about you guys but my version seems better, its the most popular one in the world and its the most correct".

Can you imaging this? What chaos? Ten people with 10 different versions and they all say different things! Yet this is what is happening in churches right now, everybody has their own "favourite" version. No wonder there is so much confusion going on in the churches over doctrines and meanings, because they all have different bibles. De 6:4 "The LORD our God is one LORD" but he has over 200 versions of his precious word for you to choose from. Plain english, bibles for english as a second language speaking people, bibles for people who learned "street" english in the school yard, bibles with modern hip and cool up to date for today's gangster wannabe youth, bibles with less words so that you carry less weight, bibles according to this guy and that guy and so on. Does that sound right? NO! OF COURSE NOT! "Oh the KJV is too difficult to understand" that is what some people say, well english isn't even my mother tongue, yet I understand it. Some words I don't know what they mean, so I look them up, is that so difficult to do? Oh so you say that God wrote a Bible but that it is impossible to understand because His english is outdated, so modern men have to translate to modern english so that now after 2000 years we finally understand what God meant. Does that sound right? God has one bible, he doesn't have 200+ versions, HE HAS ONE BIBLE AND ONE BIBLE ONLY!!! God is perfect and his word is perfect, his word is preserved for all generations, for EVER! "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." (1 peter 1:23) "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." (Psalms 12:6,7)

I used to be an NIV user (it was the Catholic Bible I used before) after I trusted Christ alone for salvation until I found out about many missing verses and corruption. Now I am a King James only believer after I got saved.

GREAT BOOKS - TONS OF INFO

  • 1. Alberto (As a Jesuit, Alberto helped destroy churches and ministries. But as he read the Scriptures, he saw that Catholicism couldn't save.)
  • 2. Double-Cross (After his salvation, Alberto is a hunted man. No Jesuit can leave his order alive! He reveals the infiltration of Protestant organizations, and warns of false "brethren" in our midst.)
  • 3. The Godfathers (Here's how the Roman Catholic Institution, as the "Mother of Abominations" (Rev. 17), caused many wars. This is the book the Catholic press is afraid to mention.)
  • 4. The Force (This comic reveals how the Vatican is using its occult force to deceive millions. It's the "habitation of devils" described in Rev. 18:2.)
  • 5. Four Horsemen (Here's a clear description of how the papacy fulfills Bible prophecies of the antichrist.)
  • 5. Four Horsemen (Here's a clear description of how the papacy fulfills Bible prophecies of the antichrist.)

"...Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." (Matthew 24:3-14)

JESUS IS KING. JESUS IS GOD. JESUS IS THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (1Ti 1:17) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:18)
